Bernard & Margeret Simons owned property that they had planted pine trees on for Christmas trees. In the mid 60′s some people suggested they put in a golf course, which they did. The first 9 holes went so well that in the early 70′s he added an additional 9 holes for the existing 18 holes. The original 9 holes were rather difficult for the late 60′s and early 70′s.
Today, Oak Lane is one of the better kept golf courses in mid-Michigan with the greens leading the way. Some golfers say they are the best greens in the area, you’ll have to decide that for yourself!
